I anticipated a different ending: rather than tearfully thanking you, she would angrily ask why you hadn't let her die. I wonder why I assume people have any insight into their own psyches, slow-motion suicides, or even just day-to-day behavior. Thank you for this thought-provoking piece.

Great piece. I will never understand the rudeness and entitlement of some. At least she was consistent........
